'Love Situation', the highly anticipated 5th album from Tarrus Riley was released today (February 4, 2014) and debuted at #1 on the US Itunes Chart and top 10 on numerous International Itunes Charts (Canada, Italy, UK. Australia). The album is produced by Dean Fraser for Cannon and assisted by talents such as Shane C. Brown of Juke Boxx Productions, Mitchum "Khan" Chin and Jordan McClure. Love Situation is a 17-track collection of Rocksteady song selections including a remix of two previously released songs, 'One Drop' and 'To the Limit' which features Konshens. Other guest artist collaborations on the album include Dean Fraser, Big Youth, Mr, Cheeks, and Whippa Demus.

The Caring Continues. The Shaggy & Friends benefit concert for the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation returns on January 4th, 2014 to the lawns of the Jamaica House in Kingston, Jamaica. The initial fund raising Benefit for the Bustamante Hospital for Children started in 2009 and was last held in January of 2012. According to a report in the Jamaica Gleaner, Rebecca Packer, Executive Director of the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation indicates the event will be held on a biennial basis.
As usual the line up includes an impressive list of artists including Shaggy himself, Ne-Yo, and Tessanne which will be her first major appearance since winning NBC's The Voice competition. The line-up also includes performances by Jamaican artists Tarrus Riley, Konshens, Elephant Man, Chronixx, Wayne Marshall, Assassin, Pinchers and Admiral Bailey. Recently it was announced that Matthew Schuler, a contestant on The Voice has also been added to the line-up.

Live from Jamaica, the annual Boxing Day event Sting billed as "The Greatest One Night Reggae & Dancehall Show on Earth" kicks off at 8:00pm ET on 12/26 at Jamworld in Portmore, Jamaica.
This year Sting celebrates its 30th anniversary with the highly anticipated return of Supercat after more than a 10 year hiatus, the recent addition of international star Wyclef Jean along with 2Chainz, Mavado, Ninja Man, Lady Saw, Tommy Lee Sparta, Sizzla, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Kiprich, and many more artists. It's been a banner week for Caribbean artists. Earlier this week Jamaican vocalist Tessanne Chin won the title of 'The Voice' on the 5th season of the popular NBC Singing Competition, The Voice. Now, as this week closes out, Bunji Garlin, the Soca sensation from Trinidad and Tobago is one of two remaining international artists competing for the title of Song of the Year.
Since launching in 2011, MTV Iggy highlights popular music from around the globe. The 2013 poll featured 13 of the most popular songs for the Song of the Year award. On Friday morning, As the polls reached the last 30 - 60 minutes of significant voting, the voting application encountered issues during a neck to neck race between Bunji Garlin's song 'Differentology' and South Korean pop star G Dragon's song 'Crooked'. MTV Iggy responded to voting issue complaints and acknowledged that their server had indeed crashed due to the heavy volume of votes. A run-off contest poll was opened between Bunji Garlin and G Dragon which is currently open and in effect until 12/21 @ 11:00AM ET.

The poll will now close at 11am EST Dec. 21. This is a final amendment. If the poll crashes or there are any technical difficulties, it will be declared a draw.
Wow. This has been one of the most thrilling and emotional reader polls that we’ve ever done. Song of the Year 2013 became a neck-and-neck show down for who has the most has the most passionate fans in the world.
In one corner stood Bunji Garlin. His track “Differentology” demonstrated that soca didn’t just have to be confined to Trinidad and Tobago or Caribbean communities around the world; it has worldwide infectiousness that fits right in with the domination of electronic dance music in 2013. And with Tessanne Chin’s win on The Voice this week, the future is looking very Caribbean.
In the other corner stood G-Dragon. The Big Bang member released his career-defining album Coup d’Etat this year, churning out singles “Coup d’Etat” and “Crooked,” which showed the world how magnetic and sonically eclectic and he could be. In “Crooked,” G-Dragon manages to be a mysterious, fun-loving, stylish, super-charged bad boy and his fans can’t get enough.
Both fan camps put their time and energy into making sure that their favorite artist pulled far and away from other notable contenders like 2NE1, Los Bunkers, and Zedd.
All of that was paying off until, with less than an hour to go… The poll froze. We worked as hard as we could to fix the problem (which is likely outside of our ability to fix), but THE FANS WERE TOO MUCH FOR THE SERVERS TO HANDLE. At the time that the poll, the margin between between the two artists was .02%. That ish is cray!
After a staff discussion, we only thought it would be fair to give the fans a little bit more time. You now have until 5pm EST this evening (12/20/13) to choose just between Bunji Garlin’s “Differentology” and G-Dragon’s “Crooked” for MTV Iggy Song of the Year."

12/17/2013 As the 5th Season of The Voice reached its season climax on the grand finale of The Voice, the final 3 contestants: Tessanne Chin, Will Champlin, and Jaquie Lee gave it their all to win the popular votes for the prestigious title of The Voice. The Grand Finale format allowed each contestant to perform 3 songs. The first song an encore of their Blind Audition song, the 2nd song a duet with their coach, and the the third song a final solo.
First up was Tessanne for an encore performance of "Try" the blind audition song that quickly turned all four coach chairs and propelled Tessanne into The Voice competition. The Beatles classic song 'Let it Be' was chosen for the duet performance with Coach Adam Levine and not without a wonderful Reggae mix in the middle of the song. Tessanne's solo performance and Tribute to Whitney Houston was a stunning version of 'I have Nothing' which has earned Tessanne a top spot in the Itunes Chart yet again. Let it be is quickly following suit and as of this writing it is #4.
Meanwhile, Tessanne currently leads the number 1 & 2 spots on the Itunes Reggae Charts with NBC The Voice Performances of Redemption Song and Underneath it All. Now two more of Tessanne's songs are also in the Top 10. Her original track 'Hideaway' is #4 and a Reggae Version of 'I want to know what love is' is now #9.
Since the moment Tessanne Chin performed in the Blind Auditions on September 23rd, fans have amassed a #TeamTessanne support campaign voting her into the top each and every week that the public could vote. And for the first time last week, Tessanne hit #1 on the Itunes Singles chart for her rendition of Bridge over Troubled Waters. The momentum of that support continues into the final voting period.
